Futaba T16SZ Gimbal Protector - Remove Before Flight

I thought danowar's "Remove Before Flight - Gimbal Protector" was so clever, that I wanted one for my Futaba T16SZ. I recreated the cross bar in TinkerCad to resize it for 110mm centers, and I enlarged the guard ring to 51mm to fit the Futaba gimbal recess. There are two lettering versions for the cross-bar, with one having a narrower font.

Update: I have added a gimbal protector with a narrower opening to be made of TPU, which will fit snugly on the stick.

Print Settings

Printer:

Artillery

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.12mm

Infill:

10%

Filament:
Hatchbox PLA
Red

Notes:

The holes in the cross bar may require supports. One can perform a filament change during the print to make the lettering a different color.

Post-Printing =============
Alternatively, one can paint the raised lettering with a dry-brush technique. A paint pen like https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002HIEXDS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 works well. I tried both lettering methods: the paint method looks nice, but could rub off over time; the filament color change is a bit crisper and theoretically should hold up better.

Category: R/C Vehicles
