My Futaba 3VC transmitter had an 8-cell NiCad 9.6V power pack which didn't hold charge. Instead of replacing like for like, I soldered 3x 18650 cells in series to create a slightly higher voltage pack, although within spec of what the TX can handle. The 18650's sit 'fatter' than the AA cells so require an expanded battery cover. Printed at 0.28, 20% infill using PLA on my Ender 3. Works fine but I did add some tape to be certain it's secure.
