Fusion Nintendo Switch RCM Jig

I liked the option of a keyring in Sulya's RCM jig, but loved the design of ShadoX's Jig. So I combined them! ShadowX's Summary What makes this file different than the other designs? 1) Its designed so that installing the wire is straightforward and very easy. There is no need for wire jigs since the part is the jig. 2) The wire used in this design is from twist ties, so its readily available and free. 3) The wire is compliant and much less likely to damage the switch connector. It is designed to slide over the contact without any sharp edges in direct contact with the switch connector contacts. On other designs with paper clips, the ends may be jagged and damage the connector trace as it slides over it. 4) The wire is fully supported by the 3D printed plastic material and will not permanently deform and lose contact over the design life. 5) By angling the ends of the wire down, the wire does not have any sharp ends which may damage the connector traces on the switch. It also prevents the wire from being pushed out as you slide it into the connector. 6) I also provided the STEP files for others to make improvements to the design. Print with the smallest layer. I use 0.1 mm layer height. There is a couple area with small overhang, but it should be straightforward. Assembly As for the wire, it should be around 0.40mm to 0.50mm in diameter. The easiest source of wire is to just strip one of the twist ties used for vegetables, grocery bags, etc. Its relatively soft and pliable and easy to work with. 1) Strip the paper or plastic insulation off the wire. 2) Make sure the wire is clean and use a fine grit sandpaper to make sure its shiny and clean if needed. 3) Shove one end of the wire into one of the holes and push it through to front of the jig and make right angle down near the tip. 4) The other end of the wire, just push it through the other hole until it goes through. 5) Use a pair of pliers to yank the wire until it sits flush on the back of the jig without any slack. 6) Bend wire down. 7) Cut the ends of the wires flush to the bottom surface. Make sure it does not protrude so use a sharp diagonal cutter or a nail clipper to trim the ends. 8) You can bend up the tips of the wires ends slightly to improve contact and to make sure the ends of the wire does not protrude past the bottom surface. 9) You should double check and make sure the center of the wire is about 6.20 mm apart from each other with a caliper. Printing Tips: * Print on its back and add a brim to ensure clear tunnels. * You can go as high as 2.0mm layer height but I recommend printing at 1.5mm or lower. Wire: * 0.40-0.50mm diameter twist tie.
