The fuse holder, often referred to as "fuse tube" or "door," is an insulating tube housing a replaceable fuse element. Upon operation ("blowing"), the fuse holder detaches from the upper contact, thereby interrupting the circuit, and hangs from its lower end via a hinge. This hanging fuse holder serves as a visible cue that the fuse has blown and confirms the open circuit status. The circuit can also be manually opened by withdrawing the fuse holder with a hot stick.
