fursuit mask breathe through nose adapter
thingiverse
The plan involves repurposing an old CPAP mask and 3D printing an adapter, enabling fursuit type masks to function as makeshift snorkels, mitigating the issue of heat buildup due to exhaled breath and inadequate ventilation. With relatively minimal resistance to airflow, nostrils tubes measure around 3/8 inch in diameter, creating a constricted passage comparable to breathing through a 3/4 inch opening. This suggests that most taxidermy-style silicone noses can be easily adapted by drilling them out using a press. The primary challenge lies in sourcing the required CPAP mask components. To achieve this, one must first track down an appropriate model. In the near future, I intend to create digital models for the necessary adapter pieces, simplifying the process and making it possible to obtain just the rubber nose gasket from the original mask, which may be purchased separately.
