Furry Hexmas Tree (single and dual extrusion)
cults3d
Happy Holidays! I printed two trees without supports, using minimal infill - 5% to be exact. Both versions were included: single and dual extrusion. The results were impressive. I printed two trees, one at 0.2mm and the green one at 0.3. The purple tree probably fared better at 0.2, but both turned out great. I ran three shells on the purple tree and two shells on the green, which helped minimize casualties on the branches when removing the cone. I experimented with creating a hairy tree, but many of my attempts resulted in painful prints. This design, however, was incredibly easy to print and can be completed quickly. The tree stands at just under 15cm tall, plus an additional height from the star. The star is slightly oversized, but it's okay. Removing the outer cone is a breeze. I simply used a kitchen knife to cut around the inside, then soaked it in hot water for a minute. After that, I molded it into shape - a hair dryer also works, but be cautious as it can get aggressive sometimes.
