Furniture Foot Pad
thingiverse
This is a replacement foot pad for furniture designed to provide superior support and comfort. I created mine to replace worn-out foot pads on my reclining sofa, which were weak in design and needed an upgrade. To ensure they would last longer than the originals, I printed them with 100% infill using ABS filament, which is what I had available. However, other types of strong filament can be used as a substitute, provided they are suitable for printing. When printing these foot pads, it's essential to consider their weight when in use. To minimize this issue, I recommend printing them with 100% solid infill. This will provide extra strength and stability while keeping the overall weight to a minimum. As an added precaution, I would like to mention that some filaments may leave marks on surfaces when rubbed against them. If you plan to use these foot pads on hardwood or tile floors, it's best to avoid using such filaments altogether. While I'm not aware of any specific filament that causes this issue, it's always better to err on the side of caution and choose a more suitable material. The supplied files include both STL and Google SketchUp (.SKP) formats for easy modification. The dimensions of the part are listed in the .SKP file, but I'll provide a brief explanation below. The replacement foot pad measures 11.6mm in height and 30.5mm in diameter. The hole for the bolt is 8mm in diameter, while the space for the bolt head is 18mm in diameter and 8mm in depth. This design provides 3.6mm of solid support between the bolt head and the furniture it will be attached to.
