In Furingstad, Vikbolandet's most impressive medieval church stands east of Norrköping. A thorough annual examination of the wooden components that make up this ancient structure (dendrochronological analysis) has shed light on its construction history. The choir's roof bears visible signs of repurposed materials from an earlier edifice. Logs for the nave were harvested between 1163 and 1165, while those used for the choir's roof fell in winter 1166-67. The tower was erected simultaneously, though testing results for this period are less precise. It is reasonable to assume that the three building components were completed around the same time, with roofing stages unfolding over a series of years, and the upper sections of the tower likely finished later on. In 1345, the choir underwent an expansion project. Johan Stenvall captured images of the Church, utilizing both camera equipment and a DJI Mavic 2 pro drone for aerial perspectives.
