Funny Looking Bottles #3

Human: Ceramic bottles maintain their place in many situations despite glass and plastics becoming increasingly popular for their transparency and recyclability. These vessels are perfect for storing and pouring liquids due to their closed shape, which has been a staple of pottery for centuries. Japanese tokkuri or sake bottles, for example, can be warmed up directly with the sake inside them, making them a unique choice. In his playful interpretation of bottle form, Dr Iskandar retains the elongated neck and small aperture-mouth that regulate liquid flow, but moves away from symmetrical bodies to create eccentric forms reminiscent of dancing or interactive figures. The irregular-shaped bodies are adorned with fluting, where grooves are carefully crafted on the clay surface using a tool, adding an extra aesthetic touch. To complete the look, each neck is wrapped with thin bamboo strips and tied with a wooden tag bearing Dr Iskandar's distinctive sakura seal.
