The Ghost Rider is the alias for several anti-heroes that have appeared in Marvel Comics publications. Initially, Marvel used this name for a western character who was later renamed to Ghost Rider. The first supernatural Ghost Rider emerged as stunt biker Johnny Blaze, who made a pact with Satan, known as Mephisto, to save his father's life. Under the cover of darkness and when evil prevails, Blaze's body is engulfed in hellfire, transforming his skull into a blazing cranium. He then mounts a fiery motorcycle and unleashes blasts of hellfire from his skeletal hands.
