Funerary stele with depiction of loutrophoros
myminifactory
The stele, a Greek original dating back to the mid-4th century BC, showcases a large, tall-necked vase known as a loutrophoros. The vessel's body features three male figures: a bearded man draped in a cloak and leaning on a staff, his image overpainted in antiquity; a younger man wearing a tunic and cloak; and a servant of smaller stature. Above the scene, the names of the two main figures are inscribed in Greek letters: Euboulos and Euboulides, identified through epigraphical sources as members of an influential family from Attica. The loutrophoros, used in ancient Greece for wedding rituals, likely alludes to Euboulos' untimely death before his marriage.
