Funerary stele of a woman

This is a grave marker honoring an unidentified woman. The deceased subject stands upright within an ornate frame, clad in a traditional Greek tunic and draped with a flowing veil. The right arm emerges from beneath the veil, bent at the elbow as she cradles a mysterious object in her left hand. Several perforations on her head suggest that a metallic wreath was once attached to her hair. This monument was unearthed in Pera.
