Laurel wreaths, palm branches, and delicate rosettes dance across its surface, a testament to the artistic flair of a bygone era. Beneath this elaborate design, seashells, mirrors, and intricately woven combs create a sense of movement, as if life itself has been frozen in time. The inscription field, skillfully profiled and boasting five rows of Latin text, remains an enigma waiting to be deciphered. Discovered within the ancient necropolis of Novae, this relic bears the markings of a long-forgotten civilization that once flourished in the region. Dating back to the dawn of the 2nd century A.D., its significance cannot be overstated. MATERIAL AND SIZE: This limestone funerary stele measures an impressive 2.17 meters in height and 1.23 meters in width, a formidable presence that commands attention.
