This is one of a series of vibrant tombstones used to adorn graves and tombs. Each of these elaborate gravestones features intricate sculpted reliefs with dynamic figurative depictions that bring the deceased person to life; unfortunately, their identities remain shrouded in mystery due to the absence of accompanying engravings. Notably, two male figures are prominently featured in each relief, implying a strong bond between them - whether as brothers or members of a brotherhood remains unclear. The raised hands, often grasping a bouquet or object, suggest that this is a unique and significant type of funerary artifact. Discovered in Coptos, Egypt.
