Funerary Relief of Philodamos
myminifactory
This ancient Italian carving depicts a man enveloped in a cloak, gazing longingly at his spouse. Regrettably, her portion of the relief has vanished into history. The figure's head was skillfully reworked to honor Philodamos around 250 AD. An inscription beneath the name proudly proclaims "farewell!"
