Funerary Relief of Mynno
myminifactory
Athens/Piraeus (Greece) was acquired in 1884 as a prized possession. Marble crafted between 410 - 400 BC remains a stunning work of art. A woman sits elegantly on a curved chair, her hands moving swiftly as she spins her wool with skill. Her right hand tightly grasps the spindle, while her left holds a distaff painted in intricate detail. Beside her chair lies a woven basket overflowing with soft, fluffy wool. The artist's depiction suggests Mynno may have been a foreigner who had not yet earned full citizenship. This object is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking initiative launched by MyMiniFactory to create a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures and artworks from around the globe.
