Aristobulus of Cassandreia, a Greek historian born circa 375 BC, was the son of Aristobulus. He likely settled in Cassandreia as a Phocian and accompanied Alexander the Great on his military campaigns throughout his life. As an architect and military engineer, he worked closely with Alexander, earning the king's trust. He also played a key role in repairing the tomb of Cyrus the Great in Pasargadae. Aristobulus wrote a comprehensive account of his experiences, primarily focusing on geography and ethnology. His work has been widely used by historians such as Arrian and Plutarch, who often referenced him in their own writings.
