Funerary Relief of a Girl, So-called Stele Giustiniani
myminifactory
Island of Paros (Greece) was acquired in 1897. Marble from Paros dates back to around 460 BC. This exceptional funerary relief is considered one of the most beautiful and stunning pieces from classical Greece. In her right hand, the deceased holds a round container, the lid of which lies on the ground in front of her, and extracts from it a piece of jewelry or a woolen bandage, which was once beautifully painted. A magnificent palmette serves as the finial of the relief stele. This object is part of "Scan The World", a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory.
