This tablet formed part of a funeral monument and stood alongside the altar. The style of altars featuring inscriptions on the main face and portraits on the sides often highlighted the profession of the deceased and enjoyed immense popularity during Roman times. Inside the tablet lies a robust male figure (it's uncertain whether he represents the deceased, as seen in some altars from Aquileia, or a servant, as observed in specimens from Noricum and Pannonia): he wears a tunic with a cloak draped over it, similar to the paenula, creating a broad fold across his chest. This type of attire was widely adopted in provincial settings by both free men and women, as well as slaves.
