The Kutch Museum in Bhuj, Gujarat, India houses a significant stone funerary monument. This ancient relic features four inscriptions that provide valuable information about the deceased and their relatives. The inscriptions were created with the intention of commemorating the construction of a funeral monument, or lathi. Inscription 1 reads: a) Ranjo Chashtana is Ysamotika's son. b) Pu(r)ta was erected by Ranjo Rudradama. c) Jayadama-putra built it in the year dvi-pamcha 52, during Phaguna Bahula's second month. d) It was built by Sihil putra Opasati-sa-gotras, Bhratra Madanena (sihi) la-putrena. e) Lashti uthapita. Inscription 2 states: a) Rajno Chashtana is Ysamotika's son. b) Pu(r)ta was erected by Ranjo Rudradama, Jayadama-putra's son. c) It was built in the year dvi-pamcha 52, during Phaguna Bahula's second month. d) Yasadataye Sihamita dhita Senika-sa-gotras built it as a samaneriya. e) Madanena shihila-putrena kutubinye (lashti) uthpita. Inscription 3 reads: a) Rajno Chashtana is Ysamotika's son. b) Pu(r)ta was erected by Ranjo Rudradama, Jayadama-putra's son. c) It was built in the year dvi-pamcha 52, during Phaguna Bahula's second month. d) Rishabhadevasa Treshtadate-putrasa Opasati-gotras built it as a pitr(a) Treshtadatena sramn(e) rena lashti. The inscriptions were scanned by Ishita Jain and the narrative was provided by Kutch Museum.
