Funerary lekythos

This lekythos was unearthed in Athens' Kallithea district.\r\nIn the center of the picture, a youth grasping a hare turns to a woman who extends her hand towards him. A stool is visible between them.\r\nA woman and an elderly man, possibly a priest, observe the scene unfolding before their eyes. The inscription on the shoulder reveals that this lekythos marked the boundary of a grand funerary peribolos.
