Functioning Watch with Magnetic Clasp
thingiverse
A fully functioning 3D printed timepiece, boasting a segmented hinging band and magnetic clasp, showcases impressive innovation. https://youtu.be/ojgz-qtHHJY Please note that the project is not thoroughly documented, making it a challenging undertaking for individuals who wish to replicate the design. For those willing to take on the challenge, they will need to 3D print five distinct components: one body part, one face part, one M1 part, one M2 part, and one end link. Additionally, a chain of normal link parts must be arranged in Repetier-Hose to achieve the desired length. The timepiece's magnetic clasp is comprised of 1/8" diameter by 1.4mm tall neodymium magnets. A clear watch crystal, precision-cut from 40mm diameter circle of 1/16" clear acrylic, adds a touch of elegance. The internal mechanisms and hands were sourced from an affordable timepiece.
