Functional spearthrower dart point, atlatl, field point, sagaie, osseous, Magdalenian style
thingiverse
Functional spearthrower dart tip, field point. In the style of a Magdalenian single bevel point. This is ~20cm long and mates well to a 6 foot, 0.5” (13mm) poplar dowel for a mainshaft. Other shafts would also work. Just cut a bevel at the end, glue and bind this in place, and socket and fletch the other end. I've been using black hot melt glue and artificial sinew. Printed in white PLA it looks like a proper osseous sagaie point, but does get dirty really quickly when you use it. Use 100% infill. I am presenting these 3d models to everyone, free of charge. None of them were directly scanned from original (“real”) artifacts, but made off of copies which I have personally carved myself. Because of this, I own the rights to all of these; and I hereby give you free access to use them for whatever purposes you desire. If you do use these models or data derived from them in a publication, please thank me or provide a citation to this page; while the models are simple they represent a fair amount effort in research, carving, scanning, etc.
