Functional Railroad Wheel
thingiverse
It can be used to construct a cart to traverse DECOMMISSIONED railroads.I am currently working on my own cart and might update this if it works with these wheels.I plan on cutting a 3/4in all-thread rod and welding it to a longer and stronger axel. Then I will screw a 3/4in hex nut with a compression washer to secure it.Some parts I found for reference:https://www.homedepot.com/p/3-4-in-10-A563-Grade-A-Hot-Dip-Galvanized-Steel-Hex-Nuts-10-Pack-9073756/310338312https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson-Strong-Tie-ATR-3-4-in-x-12-in-Zinc-Plated-All-Thread-Rod-ATR3-4X12ZP/20533003610 deg angle RR wheelOuter dia = 100mmOuter top dia ≈ 69.4mmInner dia = 60mmstatic load tested with 485N (seen in the second image) with no deformitiestested with PLA-CF, but it probably works with your hardest filament----note the relatively small Fₐ due to a shared load between 4 wheels.----(tested for ~200lbs but can likely hold much more)
