I designed this thing just for fun and I'm pretty sure it'll work smoothly on a well-tuned machine if you assemble it right. You might want to consider making those key walls thicker so it's more durable, though. This is actually a really cool example of how classic Lever Locks operate. In the future, I might design the lid to lock up tight so you can't get inside and mess with the innards - for now, you could just pop open the lid and move the levers around, but hey, it's working. I'd love to hear your thoughts on this thing! Assembling this lock is pretty straightforward: First, attach the bolt on the bottom, then stack Lever 1 and Lever 2 on top. Make sure those levers are hinging freely off that Case pin with a nice spring tension against the wall of the case. The Shackle needs to be held in place by the Pin - it only fits one way, so just line it up and press it in until it's flush and not getting in the way of the lid. Then just slide the Lid over the top of the Case and you're done. Check out that exploded parts image for a reference point. I built some fair tolerances into this design, but if anything starts to bind up, feel free to sand it down as needed. A few quick notes: * Only the Case really needs supports. * The Key hinges through that small hole in the back of the case - just insert the key all the way and you're good to go. * Enjoy your new lock!
