functional (on/off) Kaiser blade light switch cover
myminifactory
I entered this custom design into the contest because I wanted to create something functional and useful for everyday life. The result is a Kaiser blade cover for my light switch that can be seen in the accompanying photo, showcasing how it will fit over the existing light switch. My artistic skills aren't particularly impressive, as evidenced by my initial attempt xD. I reprinted the design and applied paint more carefully, resulting in an improved finish xD. Although I'm still not confident in my painting abilities haha, the end product is acceptable. This 3-piece model consists of a back plate that bolts over the original light switch, an on/off switch (resembling a sword), and a front piece (representing the shield's front). The front and back components are designed to fit together without requiring any bolts or glue =D. To operate the cover, simply pull the sword up to raise the light switch, or push it down to lower the light switch. I printed this design using a .3 nozzle and .24 layer height, although my slicer profile was optimized for .1 layer height XD. The print quality wasn't perfect, but I prioritized meeting the deadline over reprinting the model =(. It took almost 4 hours to complete the initial print.
