Functional Lion Head Door Knocker
thingiverse
The design takes its inspiration directly from a functional lion's head door knocker, but with distinct variations throughout. The handle itself serves as a separate unit that effortlessly slips into place once aligned correctly. By incorporating a keyhole mount, users are able to hang the entire piece securely via a screw for maximum stability. Moreover, an additional hole on the strike plate accommodates another screw to further solidify the structure, ensuring seamless functionality in conjunction with its attached door frame. Finally, a carefully crafted cap is cleverly designed to snap over the exposed screwhead, shielding it from view and rounding out the entire appearance. The majority of modifications to the base design were performed within Meshmixer; however, for a brand-new creation - the strike plate was initially sketched out in Fusion 360, only to be extensively revised thereafter based on user preferences.
