Introducing my third 3D-printed CubeSat, a space-ready design that builds on lessons from its predecessors. The Mk III features functional enhancements such as embedded threaded inserts for avionics hardware and deployment orifice for switches and springs. Made with ULTEM 9085 thermoplastic, this lightweight CubeSat is space-certified, resistant to atomic oxygen, and provides excellent radiation shielding. It meets ESA and NASA outgassing requirements and has been demonstrated to survive 20g launch loads in FEA simulations. The Mk III design prioritizes functionality, conformality, and manufacturability while using a space-certified material. Stay tuned for more details on the improvements made from Mk II, but rest assured, this contest entry is a realistic, functional model.
