Functional Cannon
thingiverse
This is a highly functional cannon that fires half-inch steel balls with incredible precision and speed. Not only does it perform exceptionally well, but its sleek design also makes it look amazingly cool. Modeled after a ship's mighty cannon, this device can propel the steel ball at an astonishing 60 mph using homemade gunpowder - commercial-grade powder is likely to produce even more impressive results. Measuring seven and a half inches in length, this remarkable piece of engineering features a built-in valve that cleverly blocks the fuse hole after the fuse has burned through, ensuring that all the energy released by the gunpowder is harnessed to accelerate the ball with maximum force. The spring required to complete the valve assembly is simply a standard ballpoint pen spring. If you plan on firing this cannon, it's highly recommended that you place the fuse in first, then carefully pour in a teaspoon of gunpowder, followed by inserting a plug made from foam, paper, or even duct tape. This clever technique will increase the pressure inside the cannon and allow for an incredibly powerful shot. The tighter the plug is secured, the more potent your cannon's performance will be.
