To entertain yourself, observe a hypocycloid gear with a 1:2 planet-to-ring ratio. Every point on the gear's primitive diameter traces a straight line crossing the center of the ring. This model was designed in Solidworks 2016 and rendered using Simlab Composer 8 Mechanical Edition. Frames were edited as AVI/X264 and BMP files, then remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui. Gifs were created using PhotoScape, while IrfanView was used for rendering edits. The model is available in various formats, including Solidworks 2016, Simlab Composer 8, DAE, STEP, IGES, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, DWF, and FBX.
