Fun With Gears VI Kinetic Art
grabcad
This kinetic art piece features 16 gears divided into two groups of eight, with each rear gear rotating in the opposite direction to its front counterpart. Attached to each gear is an "L"-shaped arm. Other examples of my kinetic art include Fun With Gears IV Kinetic Art, Fun With Gears III Kinetic Art, and Kinetic Sculpture. The model was designed with Solidworks 2015 and rendered using Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical Edition. Video frames were edited with Virtualdub, saved as AVI/X264 and BMP. The final video was remuxed to MP4 with MyMP4BoxGui, while gifs were created with PhotoScape. IrfanView was used to edit renderings. Additionally, the 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB files are all animated. The ZIM file can be viewed on iOS and Android devices using the free Simlab Viewer app. The model is available in various formats, including Solidworks 2015, Simlab Composer 6, DAE, STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, and ZIM.
