Using elastic strings for the mechanism, I created kinetic art pieces for fun. Videos showcasing these masterpieces are set to be released soon. In my initial design, concentric tube/axle pairs replaced the elastics; red tubes and yellow axles were featured in the second animation. For further details, refer to the "scheme" picture. I modeled the art using Solidworks 2015 and rendered it with Simlab Composer 6 Mechanical Edition. Frames of these animations were edited in Virtualdub and saved as AVI/X264 and BMP formats. The videos were then remuxed to MP4 format using MyMP4BoxGui. Gifs were created from the frames with GifApp, and renders were edited with IrfanView. The 3D-PDF, ZIM, and SIMLAB files contain animated content. The Simlab Viewer app, available for free on IOS and Android devices, allows you to view the ZIM file. My kinetic art pieces are accessible in multiple formats including Solidworks 2015, Simlab Composer 6, DAE, STEP, IGES, STL, Parasolid, OBJ, 3D-PDF, SketchUp, 3DS, and ZIM.
