Fume Extractor Hood
thingiverse
A Fume Extractor Hood for my brother. He took an old vacuum from a thrift store and turned it into a fume extractor for his soldering station. This hood threads onto the hose of the vacuum and then can be attached to a articulating lamp arm for precise positioning. Designed to fit a 1.5" O.D. vacuum hose (1.125" I.D.) with the spring coil type hose, vacuum is an old Dirt Devil. The hose gets threaded into the end of the fume hood. In order to optimize the airflow, the hood is designed for the inside of the hood to fit flush with inside of the hose. I printed this with a 4mm brim. No rafts or supports. Due to the cross section of hood, there isn't much contact area with the printer bed. This caused the wide end of the bell to warp a bit on me, the fume hood still functions beautifully. You may want to look at better bed adhesion options though.
