Fume Extractor - 120mm Fan Shroud & Duct Adaptor
thingiverse
This device is a soldering fume extractor, suitable for use with a 12v 120mm case fan. It can be employed with or without the included flexible tube. The unit is designed to mount onto a lamp arm but can also be secured to other bases. A duct adapter reduces the diameter from 120mm to 85mm, fitting a 85mm sleeve that is available at Bunnings in Australia for $9.90 AUD. Printing specifications include an infill of 20%, layer height of 0.2mm, two shells, feed rate of 90 mm/s, and travel feed rate of 150 mm/s at a print temperature of 230°C. The parts were printed with black 1.75mm PLA on an mbot Rep2 printer. Assembly instructions include bolting the duct to the mount using a 3/16" countersunk bolt, wingnut, and rubber washer; attaching the shroud and duct to the fan with four 3/16" countersunk bolts; and cutting the standard rectangular connections of the flexible downpipe hose with an X-Acto knife, leaving a tapered round end. The hose should then be slipped into the 85mm diameter duct connection. Enjoy your new soldering fume extractor!
