I upgraded my military flashlight to an LED by swapping it with a Mag-Lite LED bulb that had been collecting dust. However, I quickly realized that the diameter of this new bulb was too wide for the existing plastic holder, rendering it useless in its current form. That's when 3D printing came to the rescue, allowing me to create a custom threaded mount for the LED bulb within minutes using Fusion 360. The result is a perfectly fitting replacement that I'm excited to share with others who may be facing similar issues. The standard incandescent bulb has a distinctive 'nose' that protrudes to make contact with a copper strip in my Fulton flashlight, whereas the LED bulb features a flat end. To resolve this discrepancy, I simply applied a small amount of solder to the metal surface of the LED bulb, creating a raised bump that allows it to establish reliable contact with the strip. The outcome is seamless, and I'm confident that others will find this solution equally effective.
