Fully Working Trebuchet

I built this fully functional trebuchet for my school project using everyday materials. For the sling and pouch, I employed craft string and a gauze pad to create a sturdy yet flexible system. With 1 pound or so in the counterweight basket, the trebuchet can fling an eraser approximately 5 1/2 feet into the air. The only thing missing is a small nail, about 1/8 inches long, that needs to be inserted at the top of the arm to secure the string leading to the pouch.
