Fully Printed Larger Drill Press for Proxxon 60/E

This is a remix of tifn's fully-printed Proxxon drill press: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4903575 They've provided a wonderful OpenSCAD file. I found that my Proxxon 60/E rotary tool had slightly different dimensions than their 230/E. The carriage larger ring has an inner radius of 17.5mm instead of 18.3mm. After printing this I think the original small radius of 10mm would work better, so I've uploaded that file. I was testing these by printing it on it's back, and unfortunately I think that was changing the dimensions slightly. The current dimension is tight on the top and very tight when the nut is turned. With 10.1mm on the small ring it's loose and just barely tight when the nut is turned. The table is 100x100mm instead of 80x80mm. This gives you 4cm between the drill location and the bump of the back of the stand (where the springs are) instead of 3cm You'll need the springs from the original make. The height hasn't changed so the same springs work I've included the .scad file, though all credits go to tifn! I only modified the values. As for making, I sanded the contact surfaces between the rear of the carriage and the front of the stand. I used the original file's rail tool to sand the rails just a bit but the fit was perfect without it. I also sanded the spring holes and the outside of the springs themselves. I used engine assembly lube around the splined rod to quiet it up, and on the gear, carriage, and springs to smooth up the action. Category: Machine Tools
