Fully Printed Filament Spool Holder

<p>When I started 3D printing I figured out like everyone else that spools was a problem, since they come in differents size and had something in mind to design to try to enhance the filament holder, but I had tons of things to print before.</p> <p>When I checked Thingiverse about spool filaments I found PHIL that was a similar design of what I had in mind (idea came with the ANET A8 spool holder that could almost handle this) and I finally took time for it and downloaded/printed to find out that it wasnt working (yeah Ill read comments before now) :/ so, back to work.</p> <p>There is my vision of an working universal spool holder fully printed.</p> <p>I uploaded videos to show it can work with new and almost empty spool, with 2 positions, upward and downward.</p> <p>Additionally it should be PHIL compatible, which mean that you can print Pins and Spools only to put them on.</p> <p>Printing :</p> <p>Print pins vertically and spool horizontaly to limit friction when assembled.</p> <p>Assembly:</p> <p>Once printed, clean all the pieces.</p> <p>For optimal use, inside spool can be sanded but not necessary if your printing is good.</p> <p>Fit the pins in spools and snap them fully in stand.</p> <p>Attach them to...something, desk, wood, whatever with screws and ajust them according your filament spool using the slider.</p> <p>A guide is not necessary but can be used, Ill upload one soon as an update.</p> <h3>Print Settings</h3> <p><strong>Printer:</strong></p> <p>ANET A8</p> <p class="detail-setting rafts"><strong>Rafts: </strong> <div><p>Yes</p></div> <p><strong>Supports:</strong></p> <p>Yes</p> <p class="detail-setting resolution"><strong>Resolution: </strong> <div><p>0.4</p></div> <p><strong>Infill:</strong></p> <p>20</p> <p><br/> <p class="detail-setting notes"><strong>Notes: </strong></p> </p><div><p>Pins must be at least 20% infill to be strong enough and dont brake if you need to remove them.<br/> Print pins vertically and spool horizontaly to limit friction when assembled. <h3>Post-Printing</h3> <p class="detail-video"> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Czh8SJNcIaU"></oembed> </figure> </p> <p class="detail-video"> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/O4SoY7Jcxro"></oembed> </figure> </p> <p class="detail-video"> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/XOIeAlmpnjE"></oembed> </figure> </p> </p></div></p></p> Category: 3D Printer Accessories
