fully printed compound crossbow
thingiverse
Reliably fires tight groups at 15 feet with precision accuracy. Functions exactly as expected from a high-performance compound crossbow. Bolts are crafted for aerodynamic spin in flight, ensuring pinpoint accuracy. The only non-printed part is the string. Most components can be printed at low infill settings of 10-20%. Many parts work well at .2 layer height, but print small items and bolts at .1 to achieve high-resolution results. Bolts require 100% infill for optimal nose weight and should be printed standing upright for balance. Use the included STL with supports if the bolt wobbles during printing. Printing with a brim also helps maintain bolt stability. The bow shows no noticeable wear over time, but the trigger spring remains finicky. The crossbow's components are listed below: |-------| |2x body.pin |2x bow.pin |1x bow |2x cam |4x clip |1x frame |1x grip |1x grip.pin |1x hook |1x trigger The string is the only non-3D printed component. Most anything that fits within the cam will work, with a recommended length of approximately 36.5cm end to end. Adjust as needed for optimal performance.
