This hinge is designed with a joint system that's exclusive to additive manufacturing, making it impossible to replicate using traditional methods. Its dimensions are tailored to fit perfectly on a 20XX-style extrusion, allowing the pivot point to sit precisely next to the outer edge and rotate a full 90+ degrees in any direction. M3 mounting holes come out at approximately 2.5mm diameter during printing, making them suitable for tapping to M3, reaming to 3mm, or using as-is with #4 wood screws, depending on your available hardware and mounting requirements. Two versions of the hinge are available: a standard tolerance model featuring ~0.2mm clearance in the trapped joints, and a looser version with ~0.3mm clearance. A well-calibrated printer should be able to produce the standard version without issue, but if you encounter fused joints or tight movement, the looser version is always an option. The strength of the hinge relies on the material used for printing. In PETG, it exhibits remarkable stability, resisting deformation in any dimension that's visible to the naked eye. This makes it suitable for most non-structural applications.
