This design has been refined for weeks to enhance its printability and ensure a smooth process. The initial idea was to create an affordable modular lamp, using a domestic FDM 3D printer with a maximum printing size of 20 x 20 cm, allowing users to build real-size lamps. Only non-printable components include wires, LED strips, etc. The design is inspired by the significance of circles, considered sacred in many civilizations due to their connection to natural shapes like planets, suns, and eyes. Circles symbolize eternity, unity, perfection, and cyclical life movements. Technical requirements include a simple design with minimal parts, easy-to-print geometry, full printability, modularity, low cost, and an attractive appearance. This updated version boasts numerous improvements over previous prototypes, including stronger joints between rings, easier-to-remove supports, flexible diffuser designs, and added features like a hole for the IR sensor. The author is currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and working on an automated version of the lamp with one degree of freedom.
