Fully Printable Digital Microscope Stand

Awhile back I acquired a digital microscope and found the default base that came with it incredibly useless. I had acquired the microscope after reclaiming some one GameBoy Colour games from my childhood home, and needed to do some soldering work on them.

I didn't want to buy a stand as most that I could find that were compatible ended up being around the cost of the microscope so I decided to print one! However, I'm super new to 3d printing and all the stands that I found had a lot of metal parts and screws that you have to buy for the projects, SO I DECIDED TO DESIGN MY OWN!

After days of designing and redesigning, I finally got a working design! This baby prints off all together in around or under 8 hours.

After having issues figuring out a way to secure the neck to the base, I decided to add a screw to the mix!

I found this Tripod Screw by GreatOldOne https://www.printables.com/model/55771-tripod-screw printed at 100% infill worked just fine.

The screw goes in at the bottom of the base and into the stand. As always be careful when installing the screw as turning too quickly will cause it to snap even at 100% infill.

Also to avoid breakage when the metal clamping device is screwed down, printing the attachment knob at 100% is also recommended as printing at lower infills caused snaps and breakages.

I hope anyone wanting a quick and simple solution for their digital microscope will find this useful/helpful, and thank you so much for reading!
