Happy holidays to all! After a day of testing different branch designs and how they would translate to printing, I've finally got a decent result. It's a bit late, but I figure it's worth posting anyway. My goal was for this to be a fast and easy task, so you won't need supports or have to tweak any slicer settings. The result is impressive - 1 hour 15 minutes for an 180mm tree at .8. At .5, the print time doubles to 2 hours, but it's still worth trying. It seems that layer height is what affects the leaves. The .5 layer height is clearly much cleaner looking, but .8 will work fine too. I've included photos of both layer heights for reference - .8 is about 1 hour 15 minutes, while .5 takes 2 hours to print. I'm in a bit of a rush, so I didn't get to print the bases or use a heat gun to shape it. However, I'm sure they'll work fine if you try them out. If you do print one, please let me know how it goes - I'll be back in two days. P.S. The hairy lion heat gun treatment should work just as well.
