As a contribution to fighting against Covid-19, I designed this BiPAP Artificial Respirator which may help people with the disease. It is a fully printable, simple and low-cost device which works with the crankshaft principle. In fact, a simple electric motor rotates a disk which makes a slot move forward and backward. An explanatory video can be found here: https://drive.google.com/open?id=16wMFSeaZbOV9-VTlchxO9XFnseEL3rwE For simplicity, neither stepper motor is needed, nor Arduino programming is required. The motor can be replaced by any rotating device like a drill or an electric screwdriver. Due to the large number of patients occupying hospitals, AmbuBag may be unavailable, so it is not necessary. Because peep valves are expensive, I used the one designed by Filip Kober. Printable ventilator-free respiratory: P.E.E.P. Valve The device can supply 1, 2, 4, 6 or 10 patients depending on the motor's power. The manufacturing method is 3D printing and the materials to be used are as follows: 1. Check valve and O-rings should be printed in flexible resin or TPE filament. 2. The pump main body and the mask should be printed preferably in translucent PLA. 3. Due to its smell, it is advisable not to use ABS filament for printing Piston and connectors. 4. Hoses are commercial and standard ones. 5. The remaining parts will be printed in PLA or ABS. The design of the head, the mask and the motor were imported from following: - Human head: COVID MASK MK3 - The Mask: Mask for Respirator-Free Reanimation Venturi's Valve - Motor: Electric Motor I hope this will be useful.
