I designed a custom project that needed some piano keys, so I crafted this OpenSCAD module to bring them to life. There's an option to showcase note names on all the white keys, but for now, I'm holding off until my dual extrusion machine becomes available next weekend. A picture of labeled keys will be uploaded as soon as I get a chance to print some. The module, titled "piano.scad," relies on "bitmap.scad" to render note names if you choose to do so. An example file, named "piano_keys.scad," demonstrates how to print one octave of keys that fit perfectly on any 3D printer with an M3 hole at the top for rod insertion to keep them together. You can enhance this design by adding hardware to the back of each key and incorporating it into various creative musical projects! Options include adjusting the number of octaves, customizing black and white key visibility, labeling notes on white keys, adjusting size and spacing, and more. When I'm not working, you can find me designing things for fun. If my work brings a smile to your face, send some DOGE – it'll be music to my ears!
