Fully Parametric Matchbox
thingiverse
Written in OpenScad, this is a fully parametric match box. It consists of an open drawer and a sleeve. I designed it with parametrization in mind, so you can adjust width, length, height, drawer hole radius, wall thickness, bottom thickness, tolerance between parts, and add a full customizable parameter for the sleeve, where you can add custom text or graphics via .dxf file. I made sure to include parameters that allow you to turn text and graphic on and off, adjust text size, and change .dxf file path. I also added four basic .dxf graphics for you to try: smile.dxf, clip.dxf, domo.dxf, and heart.dxf. For your convenience, I included three basic printables: plain matchbox, "hello" matchbox, and smile matchbox. UPDATE 02/28/2017: I corrected some errors in the code, including the sleeve's width parameter, which now has a better tolerance. I re-uploaded the .scad and .stl files. UPDATE 03/10/2017: I fixed a sleeve's width tolerance issue, made the drawer puller hole bigger, and ensured that text and graphics are not totally hollow to make the sleeve easier to print. I re-uploaded all the files.
