This remix of barspin's famous 3d printable wrench aims to make printing and getting it working less frustrating. Changes made in this remix are focused on making the supports easier to remove. The supports now have a smaller contact area with the model at their undersides, allowing for larger clearances at their sides. This change makes removing the supports much simpler, as they no longer hug the model too tightly. The lower parts of the supports have been hollowed out, saving filament and printer time when printing the wrench with high infill settings. The ridges on the jaw that match the wheel are slanted to match the slanted ridges on the wheel, making it easier to turn the wheel and reducing the risk of fusing during printing. The tolerance on the wheel has been increased slightly, allowing for smoother turning. Additionally, 0.2 mm was added to the underside of the model to create a tiny raft, making the wheel easier to print and reducing the risk of small ridges getting knocked over during the first few layers. A version of the wrench with text removed is also available, and users can add their own text using Customizer. For dual extrusion prints, set 'Dualstrusion' to yes and combine the model with the More_Printable_Wrench-dual-inserts.stl file in the slicer. Print Settings: Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 25% Notes: Printed with 3 perimeters, 4 bottom and 5 top solid layers for extra strength and a nice finish. Post-Printing: Removing the supports will be easier than on the original model, but still requires patience. Ensure that smaller fragments are removed from inside the wrench as well. A sharp knife like an X-acto is essential for removing the mini-raft from the wheel. The most challenging part is getting the jaw to move. The design is not ideal in this regard, with layers printed on top of each other without proper bridge attachment points. Applying enough force can break apart the print, allowing smoothing and reassembly. Updates: 2017/05/23: Added dual extrusion models and Customizer. 2017/06/19: Fixed broken Customizer after a long battle against bugs in OpenSCAD/CGAL. 2017/06/24: Optimized Customizer file to remove the need for a workaround.
