Fully Articulated Praying Mantis Toy
myminifactory
Howdy! I'm thrilled to share with you my latest creation, a Praying Mantis that's been a real challenge to perfect. I thought she was done after seven iterations, but I'm convinced I've got her just right for a smooth print. The Praying Mantis is an incredible creature, and I couldn't resist bringing one to life. As you're likely aware, it's a formidable beast that can take down almost any foe, including its own mates. If this mantis weighed 60 pounds, we'd all be in trouble! To print her successfully, you'll need some support material and be careful when scaling the joints. All parts are conveniently housed in one file, so you can print everything at once if your build plate is at least 140mm x 140mm. For assembly instructions, check out the pictures I've uploaded – they should give you all the details you need to click her together. I designed this mantis using Sculptris and Tinkercad, then printed it on my trusty FlashForge Finder with WXY silver black PLA filament. Thanks for checking her out! This summer, she and her sisters will be defending my garden from those pesky Japanese beetles. Be sure to share your print photos, and feel free to offer any tips you might have – they're always welcome but never required.
