Fully 3d-printed RC car (No shaft/gear needed)
thingiverse
Watch the video clip of it running https://youtu.be/dDgrRqe3_6s It's the fully 3d-printable RC car that required as little special components as possible. - Shafts and gears are fully-3d printed no machining metals are required. - Bolts and nuts are kept to the most common M3, M4 of various lengths. - Electronics are generic ones used in most RC car/plane. I opted for 2212 brushless motor 900Kv because they are cheap and easy to find. Different motor Kv of the same dimension are also compatible. - All parts are designed with minimum overhangs that are more than 45 degrees and NO PRINTING SUPPORT IS REQUIRED! Make sure you print in the right direction. What extra parts do I need? - 2212 Brushless motor with ESC - A small servo - A lot of M3/M4 bolts and nuts of various length - 1/10 wheels with tires - 4x Bearing 6x4x4 (Outer diameter, Inner diameter, Depth) for front steering assembly, 2x Bearing 16x8x5 for rear gear box. You could also replace bearings with your own design of equivalent bearings but the car won't glide as smooth - Super glue - using as Loctite - Some stiff wires (diameter ~1.5-2mm). Cut and bends into steering rod. Making guides: - Start printing from rear gearbox assembly - If you could assemble and make it works, continues to front steering assembly. - Finally the base frame - Enjoy the run! - Some bolts may get loose, put a bit of super glue and screw them back. Try if it works. Make sure they are glued at the location they are supposed to be fixed.
