A 48-inch wingspan, self-designed sailplane has been 3D printed using PLA. The Eppler 214 airfoil wing has been test flown, while the entire assembled plane awaits testing. Updates include modifying the vertical stabilizer and adding a feature to trap sheath ends of flexible control cables in the fuselage tail part. Assembly instructions and a PDF detailing assembly steps will be provided. The wing requires two 1/8" round carbon fiber rods and one 0.196" square rod per half, with cleaning of insertion holes required. Assembled wing weight is 12.7 ounces; mitre box and hobby saw were used to cut the brim from end wing panels. Two files have been updated on May 18th.
